Doc-U-Dose
The Doc-U-Dose multi-dose packaging system provides a critical link between the patient and health care providers. This easy to use system virtually eliminates medication errors, eliminates the confusion and risk associated with taking multiple medications, allows patients to independently take medications, and increases the sense of dignity and independence.
This patented, economical system is designed for anyone taking multiple medications in any care setting, including assisted living facilities, adult day care, retirement communities, group homes, domiciliary care homes, and homes for the developmentally challenged.
The system tracks and controls the total drug regimen of an individual. This is accomplished by incorporating the use of specially designed color-coded medication dosage packets. An individual's medications, prescribed and over-the-counter, are placed in the packets based upon the time of day, day of week, and the day of month the medications should be taken. Thus, the individual has a disposable packet clearly marked and color-coded containing all of the medications for a specific dosing time and day.
Klein's Pharmacy will prepare Doc-U-Dose envelopes for up to a thirty day supply of medication at a time. The envelopes may be picked up from the dispensing location or may be delivered within Summit County, Ohio, at no additional charge.
Individuals not in a group home or other facility may also benefit from using Doc-U-Dose packaging. Family members and caregivers will find that Doc-U-Dose is easier to manage than pill-minders.
Another important benefit of Doc-U-Dose is its portability. If a resident is going off premises for the day, a portion of the Doc-U-Dose envelope may be detached allowing the resident's medication to travel with them without the need for additional handling.
